It’s A Family Time Of Year – Christmas Dinner and Tinsel
Christmas dinner is a time for turkey, tinsel, nut roasts but most of all FAMILY AND FRIENDS (Human and animal). But this Christmas will you stop and think about all of those that haven't any family or are alone?
Alone at Christmas
The Christmas period can be challenging for people who have become estranged from their family or children or have no family. But there are community groups out there who welcome the alone at christmas time. At Adams Catering Hire we help provide some of these groups with the necessary items to prepare and serve up a hot Christmas dinner and all the trimmings free of charge. But we aren't the only ones. People and communities give up their time and their premises. Shops donate food and crackers. It really is a time of goodwill.
Help Is All Around You
There are so many charities, community groups and churches giving out christmas cheer to the elderly and the alone at Christmas. If you are alone, why not contact one and see if you can get a place. If you have an extra turkey, or some extra crackers, why not donate them? Or, on your own but willing to help? Why not volunteer? You will have a great time and knowing that you have brought a smile to someone else must be amazing!
What about the dogs and cats at Christmas?
But dont forget animals at christmas. Over 20,000 were abandoned last year at Christmas and New Year. Some of them are alone left in shelters, unloved or left out in the cold. But specialist rescues like For The Love of Our Frenchies, Battersea Dogs Home and others around are there to help.
